The aim of this study was to investigate the role of personality traits and type of hope in predicting the tendency to addiction among female students. The statistical population of the present study was all undergraduate and graduate students of Islamic Azad University, Karaj Branch in the academic year 1400-99, who were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling method according to Cochran's formula and 372 people and the data by Neo FFI short personality type questionnaires, Schneider's Future Hope Questionnaire, Zargari et al. The results of the analysis of the findings of the present study show that hope for the future alone explains 30% of the changes in the addiction tendency variable, neurotic thinking enters the predicted equation and only 44% of the variable changes explains the flexibility of 58%. . Responsibility has increased to 60%; And extraversion explains 61% of the changes in addiction tendency. Therefore, responsibility and extraversion have the largest share in predicting students' addiction tendency.
